Who can create a Digizine Kids account?

Only a parent or legal guardian can create and control a Digizine Kids account. Children cannot sign themselves up.

How do child profiles work?

A child profile uses only a first name or nickname and an age band — never a full identity — so we can show age-appropriate content without collecting more than we need.

What can my child do — and not do — in the app?

Children can read and enjoy Digizine Kids Weekly and Creator Reads. They cannot create accounts, buy or spend credits, make purchases, change privacy settings, or contact authors directly. All of that stays with the parent account.

Does Digizine Kids show ads to my child?

No. We do not show advertising to children, and we do not build advertising profiles of children.

Do you sell my child's personal data?

No. We never sell personal data, and we do not use third-party analytics, session replay, or social pixels on the child reading experience.

How do you verify that I'm the parent before creating a child profile?

Before any child profile is activated, we confirm you are the parent or legal guardian using a method recognized by the FTC, consistent with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). We record the date, method, and policy version of each consent.

Which children's privacy standard do you follow?

Privacy laws define “child” differently by country — for example, under 13 in the United States. To keep protections simple and strong, Digizine Kids treats every user under 18 as a child and applies our strongest protections to them, everywhere.

Can I review, change, or delete my child's information?

Yes. Parents can manage privacy settings, review information, and delete a child profile at any time from Account > Settings > Privacy & Data.

Is content on Digizine Kids moderated?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Creator Reads is not an open, unmoderated upload platform. Every creator is screened and identity-verified before they can publish, and every story is reviewed before it appears in the app.

Can creators message or contact my child?

Accepted Answer

No. Creators agree to a strict no-contact rule and may never message children directly, request contact details, direct children off-platform, or solicit payment. Any creator Q&A, contest, or community activity is moderated and parent-facing.

How do I report something that doesn't feel right?

Use the Report button in the app, or email support@thedigizine.com. We review reports promptly and tell you the outcome. If we become aware of content that indicates a child is at risk, we act immediately and involve the appropriate authorities.

What are credits, and can my child spend them?

Accepted Answer

Credits are a parent-purchased balance used only inside Digizine Kids to unlock Creator Reads stories. Credits are not money and cannot be exchanged for cash except where required by law. Only parents can buy or spend credits — children cannot make purchases.

How are purchases protected from accidental taps?

Accepted Answer

Every purchase shows the full real-money price before you confirm, requires parent re-authentication, and uses a two-step confirmation. We never use countdown timers, streak pressure, or character pleading to encourage a purchase, and we never aim a purchase prompt at a child.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Cancel any time from Parents Dashboard > Subscription. Cancelling takes no more steps than subscribing did, and we never require you to email or call us to do it.

Does Digizine Kids use cookies or tracking on child-facing pages?

No. On any page a child can reach after signing in, we use only strictly necessary first-party cookies and storage — no advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, third-party analytics, session replay, social plug-ins, fingerprinting, or behavioral profiling.

What about the public website?

On public, pre-login marketing pages, where required by law we show a cookie banner with equal Accept and Reject choices and no pre-ticked boxes. Non-essential cookies stay off until you choose to allow them, and you can change your choice at any time.
